I absolutely loved this book. No guys, I ADORED this book.
I laughed and laughed and laughed. I had so many tabs in this book to remind me of the comedic genius of Shelby Mahurin.
I am actually going to call this the most amazing published non-fanfic, that is blatantly a fanfic, I have ever read.
Okay, so we follow ‘Lou’ who is a feisty, no-nonsense, witch who is living in hiding after fleeing her coven. She lives in a time where witches are burned at the stake and the monarchy reigns.
We also follow Reid.
Reid is a God-fearing, church following, witch hunter. Who thinks anyone not human should not be allowed to exist.
After an altercation, Lou and Reid are forced into a marriage. Reid is not aware of what Lou is. He thinks she is just a wily, God-opposing woman, who needs a strong husband to guide her to the light.
What follows is the funniest story I have probably read in about 3 years. I laughed out loud multiple times, re-read many parts and then couldn’t put it down until I’d binge-read it in one night. All 544 pages.
I bought Blood & Honey straight after and honestly, I cannot wait. This was definitely a 5/5 for me, it was absolutely worth it.
Pick it up if you’re on the edge, it’s a corker!
